Calvin and Hobbes, anyone?

Cute little family. This little guy is SUCH a character. Very smart, and says the funniest things.

The family's Christmas Portrait

The expression on the little boy's face just smacks of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. Such a huge fan of Calvin. I laughed when I saw the picture. Fits this little guy's personality.

Back to what I love

Back from the hiatus. Crazy moving, but I am glad we are here. Mostly settled in.

One of my friends had an adorable little gentleman baby in September. Of course I was the photographer at the newborn shoot! :) My favorite thing about this shoot was that it was taken in her backyard. Yay for natural lighting!

I LOVE getting smiles! This is my very favorite picture out of the entire session!

My friend wanted a picture of her and her new son together. This is such a tender moment, I am glad I was able to catch it on film!

Another Beautiful Girl!

So here's the story. I had knitted the pictured baby cocoon. I really wanted to see if I had made it the right way. But I needed a baby to test it out on. My friend saves the day! She had a beautiful baby girl, and so graciously allowed me to test the fit of the cocoon. It was fun to go over to her house and snap a few pictures of baby "Mona."

Beautiful Baby

This little sweetheart. Just precious!

She has had a rough start. Frequent visitor at the Childrens Hospital. Hopefully she gets better soon.
Taking beautiful B's pictures was an absolute honor for me. I enjoyed it so much.

One of the great things about hiring a photographer is that the pictures can be taken in your own home. There will be no other kids around, no germy props, etc, if your little one has to be taken extra special care of. I understand this all too well!

Besides Portraits...

Just wanted to write a quick note to let you all know that besides portraits I also can take pictures for your artwork (all you artists out there!) and real estate (when you are selling your house). I did one session of each today. They both worked out pretty well.

At the photo shoot for the artist, we played around a lot with lighting. That was probably the biggest obstacle we encountered. But we were successful in getting very nice shots!

When I take shots of your house for real estate, I use my wide angle lens. It captures more of the room, and makes it look bigger than a normal camera photo.

It is great to be multi-dimensional!

Uh, Oh...

Guess what DH (dear husband) did last night to the fish (the fish is named Dum-dum)?

DH was cleaning out the fish tank. The tank was filthy, so it took him awhile. He put the fish back in the clean tank with all of the proper things (dechlorinate drops, etc). I hear,"Whoa! Dum-dum is going crazy!" Two minutes later, DH announces he thinks Dum-dum is dead. I go over to look at the fish, and sure enough, he is floating upside down at the top of the water. It took him awhile to figure out what went wrong. I noticed condensation on the top of the tank. DH put in too hot of water for the fish! He boiled the fish!:( It actually upset DH, which kind of surprised him. You figure it was just a stupid fish. I guess it was the responsibility that went with it. It was his pet, KWIM?

Anyways, here are some pictures I took in December. These kids are my friend's niece and nephew.
